Kenya names 23-man squad for Elgon Cup opener against Uganda

Kenya Simbas Head coach Jerome Paarwater has revealed the 23-man team set to face Uganda this afternoon in the first leg of the Elgon Cup. The lineup includes a mix of experienced players and fresh talent, bringing a balance of skill and energy to boost Kenya’s chances.
Team captain George Nyambua will lead the squad, with Eugine Sifuna and Barry Young as his assistants. Youngster Andycole Omolo, a Kenya U-20 international, is gearing up for his debut with the senior team, joined by Tyson Maina and Griffin Chao as new faces.

In the forwards, Ephraim Oduor starts at prop alongside Wilhite Mususi, while vice-captain Eugine Sifuna takes the hooker position. Emmanuel Silungi and Hillary Odhiambo form the second row, with captain George Nyambua and debutant Andycole Omolo in the back row. Jeanson Misoga completes the forward pack at number eight.
In the half-backs, Brian Wahinya will start at scrum-half, with Barry Young at fly-half. Walter Okoth and Tyson Maina will manage the midfield, playing as centres. Alfred Orege takes the blind wing, with Griffin Chao on the open wing, while Timothy Omela is set to cover fullback.
